The Salt of Ignorance by Aaron Wiegert

The night sky is a colander
Straining the stars
As brothers in arms
Reveal the gem lit from within

Icecaps under a magnifying glass
We chase our tail
Nowhere to run but a red horizon

A whale pinned beneath the moon
We are a cardboard prop
Caught in a cracked lens
With the thaw of a million malls
Sinking not with precious stones
But the salt of ignorance.

Aaron D. Wiegert hopes to live with the courage and integrity that his late friend, Andi, showed to him in the (+/-) 16 years that she inhabited our little planet.
