LETTER FROM THE EDITOR / December 2018 / Kolleen Carney Hoepfner

Hello friends,

Welcome to December, and with it our last issue of the year. And what a year it’s been!I know we’re all very busy with our lives, and the holidays, and everything else that comes with the end of the year, so I will keep this short.

First, I want to thank everyone who has made this year a great year at Drunk Monkeys. From our amazing Pop Culture and Horror issues to our fundraiser (which allows us to pay our contributors next year!) to our incredible Writers of the Month (thank you, thank you: Hannah Cohen, July Westhale, Ariel Francisco, Kailey Tedesco, Jane-Rebecca Cannarella, Caseyrenée Lopez, Logan February, Roy Guzmán, Jennifer Givhan, Emily Corwin, Tom  Ward, and Jennifer Jean). So much has happened in the never ending ride that was 2018!

We said goodbye to managing editor Dani Neilly and Fiction Editor April Jones, but we said hello to new ME Chris Pruitt and new FE Ashley Perez, as well as fiction reader Kia Alice Groom, and new Poetry Editor Joey Gould, reader Jeanne Obbard, and staff writer Sean Woodard. We’re still interested in one more fiction reader and a music editor, so if you’re down, contact me at drunkmonkeyseditorial@gmail.com.

I am really looking forward to the year ahead. If you donated to our fundraiser,  you’ll be hearing from us about your perks soon. If you’re slated to be featured next year, you’ll be hearing from us about payments soon. If you want to submit to us, we’ll be reopening on the first of January. And we’ll be announcing our Writer/Artist of the Month line up and special issues really soon!

We want to thank you for your support over the last seven years, and I personally want to wish everyone a safe and happy December. May your days be merry, bright, and full of love. We’ll see you in 2019!

Always,

Kolleen Carney Hoepfner
